Chad Cameroon project faces further problemsThe World Bank has again delayed a decision on the Chad-Cameroon oil pipeline after further criticism from NGOs in Chad, Cameroon, Europe and the USA. Local groups complain particularly of an atmosphere of intimidation which prevents constructive discussion of the project's outstanding problems. The project consortium seems to be splitting up: with Shell and Elf announcing their departure and Exxon seeking new partners.
