The WDR 2001/2002 will focus on the institutional infrastructure necessary for a strong and well-functioning market economy. It will examine institutions:

  • important for sound corporate governance;
  • necessary for effective competition policy and regulation;
  • and financial institutions.

The WDR will also examine how political and social institutions affect and are affected by these market institutions, and how political, social, and economic institutions work together to affect growth and living standards.
