It has been agreed that a high level United Nations meeting on Finance for Development will be held in 2001 involving political decision-makers at least at the ministerial level. The World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization will participate in the meeting which will address development by examining finance in the context of globalization and interdependence.
