A new report compares the accountability mechanisms of 18 selected global institutions, transnational companies and NGOs. The detailed 50-page report analyses eight dimensions of accountability. "The Bank releases a summary of key decisions taken at its governing body meetings, but no agenda, draft papers or minutes." This is a particular concern as "the same small number of powerful states...dominate decision-making in most inter-governmental organisations". Over the next six months the producers of the report plan to consult widely on its accountability framework and indicators.
