Most of the Bushmen of a Kalahari reserve in Botswana have been evicted to make way for exploitation of diamonds. Now the International Finance Corporation (IFC) is funding further exploration. The IFC told campaign group Survival, who had complained about the total lack of consultation, that they were "not involved in the discussions" between the authorities and the communities. The project documents state that the impact of exploration will be minimal. It is unclear whether there will be any Bushmen left if an extraction phase is triggered, which could make consultations unnecessary.
