After a delay of three years due to corruption scandals and the withdrawal of the main sponsor, the proposed 200 MW Bujagali hydroelectric dam on the Victoria Nile in Uganda in is now being fast-tracked for construction (see Update 53). In December the IFC and EIB disclosed summaries of proposed investment and environmental and social reviews. In April the IFC will seek approval from the Bank board in April for the potential $100 million investment. An NGO letter in December questioned the economic viability and environmental impacts of the dam and the transparency of key project documents.
