The past year saw a changeover of the heads of both the World Bank and IMF. The Bretton Woods Project played a key role within a coalition of international NGOs in calling for a transparent, merit-based leadership selection process and democratic governance reform in both institutions. BWP was given credit by Bank staff themselves for keeping pressure on former Bank president Paul Wolfowitz before he was forced to resign. Such events demonstrate why the Bretton Woods Project - networker, information provider and watchdog on a UK, European and international level - has a critical role to play. Our work is read by 10,000 activists, journalists, officials and researchers worldwide.
