Following a comprehensive assessment by the Government Accountability Project serious deficiencies have been uncovered at the World Bank in terms of its whistleblower protection policies. The assessment findings, published in the report Challenging the Culture of Secrecy and in an on-line score card, demonstrated that the World Bank and three other Multi-lateral Development Banks have substantial deficiencies in their policies and do not have reliably safe channels for whistleblowers to expose corruption. Based on a 24-point check list, the Bank scored 60 out of a total of 100 possible points.
