The extra funding released to restructure the Bank under President Wolfensohn’s “Strategic Compact” reform initiative will run out in March 2000. The Compact aims to modernise staffing and technology and refocus its objectives. The Bretton Woods Project is working to get the Bank’s final report on the Compact released in draft form so that external Bank-watchers can also give their perspectives before the Board discusses it.
