The IMF’s Independent Evaluation Office is seeking input on its 2004-2005 work programme before 22 December. Bretton Woods Project and Friends of the Earth are coordinating a letter on the programme. In its first year of existence the IEO has completed reports on fiscal adjustment, financial crises and prolonged lending. Possible future topics include the role of surveillance, capital account liberalisation, structural conditionality, the involvement of the private sector in financial crises, and a case study of Turkey.
