The 2007 Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (ABCDE) will take place 17-18 May in Bled, Slovenia. Bringing together researchers, policy makers, the private sector and NGO representatives, its main focus will be on the private sector role in development and will feature research on financial inclusion, the business climate and the provision of public services by non-state actors. Running in parallel to the ABCDE will be a workshop featuring post-graduate research on the World Bank Group from across the social sciences. This is the third conference of the researchers, previous instalments took place in Budapest in 2005 and Singapore in 2006, resulting in a volume of papers.
