US NGO Gender Action has launched its new Global Gender IFI Watcher Network, which aims to allow “large numbers of activists to collectively hold IFI investments accountable to prevent negative gender impacts and ensure positive gender outcomes”. Network members can access new online training modules on “how to find information on IFI projects, conduct gender analyses, and submit gender discrimination cases to accountability mechanisms”. With nearly 200 civil society members from over 60 countries, Gender Action has described the network as “already a powerful force for collaboration, coalition building and advocacy”, and invites more civil society groups to join the network.

Donate to the Bretton Woods Project
The Bretton Woods Project is a UK-based NGO that challenges the World Bank and IMF and promotes alternative approaches. We serve as an information provider, watchdog, networker and advocate. Our flagship publications are the Bretton Woods Observer, a quarterly critical review of developments at the World Bank and IMF, the Dispatch, a biannual analysis of the World Bank and IMF Spring and Annual Meetings, and the NewsLens, a bi-weekly roundup of key news and critical viewpoints published about the World Bank and IMF.
The Bretton Woods Project is an ActionAid hosted project (UK registered charity no. 274467).
