According to a much-heralded tradition, each year our first issue of the Bretton Woods Update features ‘Bankspeak of the year’ – the most incomprehensible or absurd use of words in a World Bank or IMF document or speech. 2012 should elicit many nominations given the resurgence of the IFIs. Also, we will present your list of recommended resources – the best of books, reports and articles written about the work of the Bank and Fund in 2012. Suggestions from readers for both features are requested.
