Since 2013, the Bretton Woods Project (an ActionAid hosted project), is working together with seven civil society partners as part of an EU-supported project titled “Prompting change in European attitudes toward the IMF’s development role and developing country debt management to help achieve the MDGs” (DCI-NSAED/2012/279-825). The project aims to address the impact of debt and international financial institutions on development.
The three years of activities target policy makers, young people in social movements and activist organisations, civil society groups including faith-based and development organisations, as well as trade unions. The project is led by the Jubilee Debt Campaign (UK), and is implemented with Xarxa l’Observatori del Deute en la Globalització (Observatory on Debt and Development, Spain), CNS Cartel Alfa (Romania), Latvijas Zala kustiba (Latvian Green Movement), the Debt and Development Coalition (Ireland), the Nikos Poulantzas Institute (Greece), and EURODAD (Belgium).
