WEBINAR: A way out of IMF reform

10 June 2024 | Events

The International Monetary Fund currently faces a crisis of legitimacy, as faith in the multilateral system of global governance withers. If the IMF wants to remain relevant and capable of strengthening the permanent international financial safety net in order to tackle today’s challenges, the institution must become democratic and accountable to all they represent.

Join us on Wednesday 12th June for the webinar: A way out for IMF reform where we will be discussing the outcome of IMF’s 16th Quota Review and explore the future prospects for governance reform.

During the webinar, the Bretton Woods Project in partnership with former IMF Executive Director Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr., will be launching a new paper on IMF governance reform, and together with other distinguished panelists will be identifying key governance reforms feasible within the existing economic and geopolitical context.
