WEBINAR: A way out of IMF reform
•
The International Monetary Fund currently faces a crisis of legitimacy, as faith in the multilateral system of global governance withers. If the IMF wants to remain relevant and capable of strengthening the permanent international financial safety net in order to tackle today’s challenges, the institution must become democratic and accountable to all they represent.
In a webinar on Wednesday 12th June titled A way out for IMF reform, the Bretton Woods Project in partnership with former IMF Executive Director Paulo Nogueira Batista Jr., launched a new paper on IMF governance reform. Together with other distinguished panelists, they discussed the outcome of IMF’s 16th Quota Review and explored the future prospects for governance reform.
